ARE WE MAKING OURSELVES SICK?

It's like having someone walk over to you on the street and let you know your pants are down. You either accept your exposed situation and quickly pull your pants up or you become so scared and frightened you act like nothing's wrong. In fact you go one step further and try and distract everyone from what they see rather than fix the problem and simply pull your pants up and thank the messenger who let you know. This is like the situation you see with both Education and Healthcare right now. These two systems because of their inherent setup with outdated and ineffective real world protocols, they couldn’t be more exposed for what and how they respond to a crisis such as Covid or anything else that WILL eventually happen. Covid is nothing special outside it is a novel virus that can cause damage to human beings that have more complicated health challenges. There is no doubt that the numbers that are reported make everyone stop and think about their mortality to some degree. And yes we need to use common sense and keep a little distance, wash up, and stay home when your sick...even potentially dangerous cloth masks work if your in and out of businesses for SHORT PERIODS OF TIME and it is used and handled like it is supposed to be handled like...A BIOHAZARD. If we are honest with ourselves I don’t believe that we can make a case about severity without giving a just review of the actual percentages, and odds that exist which must guide our decisions. There are many factors that are “more important” than the infection rate. How about how many actual people are sick with previous problems and complications that have had ongoing sub-standard and harmful medical care or intervention for diseases which then have exposed them to what normally would be a benign virus in which most people recover from? Here is the problem if we don't do justice with the numbers. We “cause” more collateral damage by fearing imagined problems that may or may not exist and then we respond frantically by upsetting the vital balance and wellness of the human being and his or her environment. Our escalation of the fear of what “could” happen or what “is most likely to happen” is usually falsely manipulated depending on our own uncontrolled biases. Covid is simply the fire alarm going off in the home. We can either eliminate the annoying repetitive screech of the reality of our situation so we can save ourselves, or we can grab that broomstick and knock it off the ceiling so it can't ever disturb us again. And while we are at it let's pull up our pants and make Education and Healthcare reform a top priority moving forward.
